County Fair Merry-Go-Round Win In MIAC Playoff Opener

If the regular-season series between Concordia and St. John’s was a rollercoaster ride at Six Flags Great America, the playoff match-up was a merry-go-round ride at the county fair. Concordia took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, rallied from a 2-1 deficit in the fifth inning and outlasted the Johnnies 6-4.

Justin Kloster (L) is congratulated by Max Boran after Kloster cranked out a 2-run home run in the eighth inning of Game 2 against St. Olaf.

They Were Honored. They Swept. They Clinched.

Concordia held its annual Senior Celebration Day on Monday – and it couldn’t have turned out any better. The Cobbers honored their nine seniors before the first game in newly renovated Bucky Burgau Field and then went out and swept Bethel to clinch a spot in the 4-team MIAC playoffs.

Andy Gravdahl had five hits to help the Cobbers' sweep Hamline. The Big Maroon Machine combined to score 31 runs and record 34 hits.
