Gravdahl Earns MIAC Player Of The Week Honors
Andy Gravdahl was named the MIAC Player of the Week after posting a record-setting week at the plate and helping Concordia post a perfect 6-0 record last week.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/17/23)---Andy Gravdahl was named the MIAC Player of the Week after helping Concordia post a perfect 6-0 record last week.
Gravdahl had a record-setting week for the ages, as he recorded at least three hits in five of the six games during the week. In the team's six games he had a .604 batting average and a ludicrous 1.74 OPS that included nine extra-base hits.
It is the first time in his career that Gravdahl has won the weekly conference award.
In addition to his other-worldly week at the plate, Gravdahl also broke the school record for hits in a career. He surpassed head coach Chris Coste as the program's all-time hit leader. Coste finished with 162 base hits in his career, and Gravdahl topped that mark on Wednesday at St. Scholastica. Gravdahl now has 170 hits in his career.
Gravdahl also owns the school record in triples for a career. He has 19 3-baggers in his time at Concordia.
Gravdahl leads the MIAC in batting average, hits, triples and total bases in conference games, and he is third in OPS, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. Gravdahl is hitting .559 in the team's eight league games. He has an OPS of 1.566 with three triples and 34 total hits.
Gravdahl, and the rest of the Cobbers, will look to continue the recent success when they play at St. John's on Tuesday, Apr. 18 at 2:30 p.m.
