Shumansky Named MIAC Player Of The Week
Junior Ben Shumansky (Perham, Minn.) was named the MIAC Player of the Week after helping the Cobbers go 5-4 on their annual spring trip to Florida.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/ 09/26)---Junior Ben Shumansky (Perham, Minn.) was named the MIAC Player of the Week after helping the Cobbers go 5-4 on their annual spring trip to Florida.
It's the first conference weekly award for Shumansky in his Cobber career and he joins teammate Brayden Wolfgram as winners of the MIAC honors this season. Wolfgra was named the MIAC Pitcher of the Week last week.
Shumansky hit .500 (11-for-22) with 8 RBI and 2 HR in Concordia's six games last week. Shumansky also had a pair of 4-hit games during the week to help the Cobbers go 3-3. In addition to his .500 batting average, Shumansky had a .772 slugging percentage and a .522 on-base percentage.
Shumansky finished the nine games in Florida with a team-best .433 average and a .700 slugging percentage. He played in eight of the nine games and had 10 hits, two doubles and two home runs.
