Game 1: Concordia 7, Macalester 9
The Cobbers battled back multiple times and made it a 2-run game in the final inning, but a big early surge by Macalester proved too much.
The Scots jumped out to a 5–0 lead through three innings, capitalizing on a four-run third. Concordia answered in the fourth when Anderson crushed his first collegiate home run to left field to put the Cobbers on the board.
The game swung in Concordia's favor in the bottom of the fifth inning with a 4-run outburst. Brayden Wolfgram started the rally with an RBI double, followed by run-scoring singles from Jack Primus and Anderson. Anderson's two-run single capped the inning and trimmed the deficit to 6–5.
Macalester responded with a single run in the sixth and the game-winning runs in the seventh frame which included a two-run home run in the top of the seventh to stretch the lead to 9–5.
Concordia mounted one last push in the bottom of the seventh. After Henry reached base and Primus singled, Anderson delivered again, ripping a 2-run double down the left-field line to make it a 9–7 game. The tying runs were left on base, however, as Macalester closed out the win.
Besides the 3-for-4, 5 RBI game from Anderson, Wolfgram went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Primus added two hits and two runs scored. Henry also crossed the plate twice.
On the mound, Grant Anderson took the loss after allowing five runs over three innings. The Cobbers' bullpen limited Macalester to four runs over the final four innings, keeping Concordia within striking distance until the end.
Game 2: Concordia 2, Macalester 1
After four scoreless innings, the Cobbers broke through in the bottom of the fourth when Primus drew a leadoff walk and later scored when Ben Shumansky drilled an RBI double to left-center, giving Concordia a 1–0 advantage.
Macalester briefly evened the score in the sixth with a solo home run, but Concordia responded immediately in the home half of the seventh. Luke Knudsen reached base and advanced into scoring position, and Primus delivered a sacrifice fly to center, bringing Knudsen home with what proved to be the game-winning run.
The story of the game was Paffrath and Mohr's ability to keep the Scots' offense unbalanced. Paffrath allowed one run on six hits over six innings while walking one and striking out two. Mohr was dominant in relief, tossing three shutout innings and striking out three.
Offensively, Henry led the Cobbers with his 3-for-4 performance, while Knudsen and Primus each reached base multiple times.
