Dioszeghy Named D3football.com All-Region

MOORHEAD, Minn. (12/11/24)---Concordia sophomore offensive lineman Sam Dioszeghy (Mound, Minn./Mound Westonka HS) was named to the D3football.com All-Region 6 Third Team. 

 

Dioszeghy earns All-Region honors for the first time in his career and it marks the third straight season that the Cobbers have had at least one player earn D3football.com All-Region honors.

 

Dioszeghy was the leader of the Concordia offensive line from his position at left guard. He started all 10 games for the Cobbers, but the first two of the season came at center as he was moved to fill in for injured players.

 

From his spot at left guard, Dioszeghy didn't allow a sack all season and helped Concordia finish with a 7-3 overall record and a 6-2 mark in conference play. The overall win total was the most since 2017. The 6-2 record in the MIAC placed CC in a tie for second place in the conference standings. The second-place finish was the highest since the 2014 campaign. 

 

Dioszeghy also helped Concordia finish the season by averaging 29.4 points per game which was the third most in the MIAC. The Cobbers averaged 343.7 offensive yards per game and Dioszeghy's stellar play on the line helped quarterback Cooper Mattern break almost all of the Cobber career passing records.
