For the second time in the last three weeks, Mages earned the conference weekly honor for his outstanding performance in a Concordia road win.
Mages earned the award this week for his 11-tackle, 1-interception game in the Cobbers' 17-14 win at Macalester.
The conference weekly honor marks the fourth time this season that a Concordia player has earned MIAC Player of the Week honors.
The 11.0 total tackles is the second most for the second-year linebacker this season.
His biggest contribution against the Scots came late in the fourth quarter with Macalester driving inside the Cobber 30-yard line and trying to put the game away. Mages was able to come up with a "jump ball" interception at the 2-yard line and returned the INT 24 yards which set up Concordia's winning touchdown.
Mages leads the team in solo tackles (40), assisted tackles (26), total tackles (66) and interceptions (4). He is also second in pass break ups.
Mages is tied for the MIAC lead in interceptions this year and fifth in solo tackles and eighth in total tackles.
