Cook Claims Fourth Career MIAC Player Of The Week Award
Concordia senior forward Jacob Cook (Ashby, Minn.) was named the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Cobbers go 2-0 in the first week of the 2025-26 season. It is the fourth time in his career that he has earned a conference weekly award.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/17/25)---Concordia senior forward Jacob Cook (Ashby, Minn.) was named the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Cobbers go 2-0 in the first week of the 2025-26 season.
It is the third time in his career that he has earned the conference weekly defensive honor and fourth overall Player of the Week award. Cook was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 10 of last season. He earned his two other Defensive Player of the Week honors in each of the previous two seasons.
Cook averaged 8.0 rebounds in the Cobbers' against Minn.-Morris and Wis.-River Falls. He also had a steal and a block against the Morris on Wednesday and added another block against River Falls on Saturday.
On the offensive end of the court, Cook averaged 27.0 points in the two games, which included a career-high 32 points against River Falls.
Cook shot 61.3% from the floor and 60.0% from 3-point range for the week.
His two standout performances helped Concordia win its first two games of the year for the third straight season.
