A High Five Of MIAC Weekly Awards
Jacob Cook was named the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 23.5 points and 17.0 rebounds against the Top 2 teams in the MIAC last week.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/19/26)---For the fifth time in his career, Concordia senior Jacob Cook (Ashby, Minn.) has earned MIAC Player of the Week honors.
The conference office announced on Monday that Cook was named the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 23.5 points and 17.0 rebounds against the Top 2 teams in the MIAC last week.
The fifth weekly honor is the most by any player in the history of the program since the conference went to awarding offensive and defensive players of the week in 2023.
Cook put up 29 points and had 21 rebounds against league-leading Gustavus in Concordia's overtime loss on Wednesday. His 20-20 game was only the third time in modern program history that a player has scored at least 20 points and grabbed at least 20 rebounds.
Cook then went for 18 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists in the Cobbers' win over second-place Augsburg on Saturday.
Cook has now recorded double-doubles in five of the past six games and has seven overall in the season. He has also scored at least 20 points in nine games and is second in the conference in scoring and rebounding.
