There's No Place Like Home
Concordia never trailed in its regular-season finale and beat St. Scholastica 87-74 to clinch a home quarterfinal game in the upcoming MIAC playoffs. Jackson Loge scored 31 points to surpass the 1,000-point mark.
DULUTH, Minn. (2/21/26)---Concordia finished off the regular season by extending their win streak to five games and was rewarded with a home game in the quarterfinals of the MIAC playoffs.
The Cobbers outscored St. Scholastica in each half and rolled to an 87-74 victory in the season finale in Duluth. The win, coupled with other results around the conference, gave Concordia the No.4 seed in the upcoming MIAC tournament.
The victory also helped CC finish with an 11-5 record in league play which put them in a tie for second place in the final MIAC standings. The second-place finish is the highest for the Cobbers since the 2013 season.
Concordia will enter the postseason with a 19-6 overall mark. The 19 victories in all games are the most since the 1996 campaign when CC went 21-6 and won the MIAC playoff tournament.
If that weren't enough to be happy about, Jackson Loge dropped a career-high 31 points in the game and became the 17th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000 point milestone.
Loge also had 14 rebounds in the game on Saturday and finished the regular season second in the conference in boards with a 10.3 rebounds per game average.
Fellow senior Jacob Cook was equally as effective against the Saints. Cook went for 27 points and 14 rebounds as he and Loge combined for 58 of the team's 87points and 28 of the 51 total rebounds.
Cook finished the regular season by leading the MIAC in rebounding and was second in scoring.
Concordia never trailed in the regular season finale as they scored the first seven points in the game and built a double-digit lead by the 16:16 mark. CC closed out the first half on a 9-4 run which brought the score at the break to 45-34.
The Cobbers never gave up the double-digit lead in the second half, outscored the Saints 42-40 in the final 20 minutes and posted the 13-point victory.
Concordia shot 47.9% (34-for-71) from the floor and 31.6% (6-for-19) from distance. CC held a 51-33 advantage in rebounds and a 54-24 advantage in points in the paint.
Concordia will open the postseason by hosting No.5 Carleton on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. The Cobbers and Knights split their season series with each team posting a game-winning shot in the final seconds at home.
