MOORHEAD, Minn. (6/07/24)---Former Cobber Gabe Benson (Fargo, N.D./Fargo Davies HS) was named to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Ping Division III All-American Honorable Mention Team.
Benson becomes the first Cobber golfer to earn GCAA All-American honors in the recent history of the Concordia men's golf program.
The All-American Honorable Mention award puts an end to Benson's Cobber career, where he became the first golfer to participate in the NCAA Championship Meet and the second player to win MIAC Championship Meet medalist honors.
Benson won the individual crown at the conference meet with a 5-under total of 211. That score was the lowest by a Concordia golfer in program history at a 3-day MIAC Meet.
Benson ended the year with a per round average of 72.7 which is believed to be the lowest in school history. He had six Top 5 finishes and carded five rounds in the 60s during the 2023-24 campaign.
