Cobbers Place 10th at Saint John’s Fall Invitational
The Concordia men’s golf team faced a strong regional field this past weekend at the Saint John’s Fall Invitational, finishing 10th after two competitive rounds at St. Cloud Country Club and Blackberry Ridge Golf Course.
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (9/21/25) — Concordia battled a tough regional field this past weekend at the 2025 Saint John's Fall Invitational, wrapping up the two-day event in 10th place with a total of 612 strokes. The Cobbers played the first round at St. Cloud Country Club and wrapped up Sunday at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course, opening with a 299 before posting a 313 to finish 25 shots over par for the weekend. The tournament was hosted by Saint John's University.
Ryan Engel led the Cobbers with a strong showing, shooting 74 on Saturday and 73 on Sunday to finish three-over-par 147 and claim 20th place in a field of more than 100 golfers. Mitchell Dewey was close behind, rebounding from a 76 on Saturday with a 73 on Sunday to finish five-over-par 149 and tie for 31st.
Tommy Disch was steady throughout the weekend, shooting 77 and 76 for a nine-over-par 153, while Jack Hanson finished at 154 and Tony Carlin closed out the team scoring with a 159.
Two Cobbers competed as individuals, with Carter Midthune turning in a weekend-best 74 on Sunday to finish at 157 and Jay Wanzek posting a 161.
Carleton captured the team title at seven-under-par, while Bethel's "B" team and Willamette tied for second at three-over-par.
The Cobbers will return to action next weekend at the MIAC Championship Meet.
