MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/07/25)---Concordia junior Ryan Engel (Twin Valley, Minn./Ada- Borup-West HS) was named the MIAC Men's Golfer of the Week after his championship performance at the Twin Cities Classic this past weekend.
The conference award marks the first time that Engel has claimed the honor in his Cobber career. He becomes the first Concordia athlete to earn the honor since Gabe Benson was named the MIAC Golfer of the Week on Sept. 5, 2023.
Engel won individual medalist honors at the Twin Cities Classic by posting a 5-under score of 68 on the final day of the tournament. His 68 on Day 3 included six birdies and an eagle and was his lowest round of the season. It was also the lowest round in the tournament by any golfer from an MIAC school.
Engel has played in 12 rounds this fall and leads Concordia in scoring average with a 73.1 mark. That average score is also tied for second among all golfers in the MIAC.
Engel will finish off the fall season when he competes in the Comet Invitational on Oct. 8-9 at Hawley GC.
