Cobbers Save Best For Last In Final Tourney Of The Year
Concordia saved its best for last on Day 2 at the annual St. John’s Spring Invitational. The Cobbers shook off an opening-round team score of 304 and posted a season-low total of 291 on Sunday to come away with a 2-day total of 595 and a 10th-place finish in the 15-team tournament.

The Cobbers shook off an opening-round team score of 304 and posted a season-low total of 291 on Sunday to come away with a 2-day total of 595 and a 10th-place finish in the 15-team tournament.
Senior Ryan Engel led the Cobber crew on Sunday. He carded a 69 and was one of five CC golfers to post a score under 77. Concordia only had to golfers shoot under 77 on Saturday.
First-year golfer Carter Midthune captured the low-team award for the tournament. He opened with a 73 and then came home in 70. His 143 total was good for a tie for eighth place in the final individual standings.
Engel's 69 on Day 2 helped his jump into the Top 15. He carded a 76 to open the tournament and then fired his second round of the year in the 60's to finish off his final college tournament.
Engel ended the year by leading Concordia in scoring with a 72.9 average.
Jack Hanson was the most consistent of the Cobber crew. He went out in 77 and then posted a 76 on Sunday.
Mitchell Dewey was one shot behind Hanson in the final individual standings. He opened with a 78 and then closed with a 76. His total of 154 helped him finish second on the team in scoring for 2025-26 with a 77.6 average.
