Engel Becomes Sixth Player In School History To Earn All-Region Honors
Less than a week after officially being named to the MIAC All-Conference Team for the second straight season, Cobber junior Ryan Engel became the sixth Cobber athlete to earn NCAA Division III PING All-Region honors.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/15/26)---Less than a week after officially being named to the MIAC All-Conference Team for the second straight season, Cobber junior Ryan Engel (Twin Valley, Minn./Ada-Borup HS) earned NCAA Division III PING All-Region 6 honors as posted by the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA).
Engel becomes the sixth player in program history to receive the PING GCAA All-Region award and the first since 2023 when Gabe Benson received the honor.
Engel led the Cobbers in scoring average for the 2025-26 season. He played in 19 rounds and had a career-low season average score of 72.9.
Engel finished in the Top 5 in three of the team's eight events during the year and posted medalist honors in back-to-back tournaments at the Twin Cities Classic and Comets Invitational in October. He won the title at the Twin Cities Classic with a 1-under total of 212 and captured the crown by five shots. He was also under par for the entire tournament at the Comets Invitational where he posted a 2-under total of 140.
He had five rounds where he posted a score of 70 or better with his season-low total coming at the Twin Cities Classic when he carded a 68 in the final round.
