Haslam Earns AHCA All-American Honors
Junior Liam Haslam became the 10th Cobber player to earn All-American honors as he was named to the American Hockey Coaches' Association All-American West Second Team.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/23/2023)---Junior Liam Haslam (Toronto, Ont.) was named to the American Hockey Coaches' Association (AHCA)/CCM All-American West Second Team.
NCAA Division II-III men's head coaches have recognized the top 31 hockey players in their division by selecting them as CCM Hockey/AHCA All-Americans for 2022-23. It is a diverse group coming from 21 schools, 12 states, and three Canadian provinces, as well as four players from outside North America. There are three graduate students, 12 seniors, 12 juniors, three sophomores and a lone freshman. Six players will participate in the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championships, hosted this weekend by Endicott College.

Haslam becomes the 10th player in the history of Concordia to earn All-American honors. He follows Tyler Bossert who was named to the AHCA All-American Second Team at the completion of the 2019 season. It is also the 13th time that a Cobber has been named as an All-American. Mark Rice, Mike Hassman and Bryan Howard were all 2-time All-American honorees.
Haslam also carries on the long line of stellar play by defensemen at Concordia. He is the sixth blueliner to receive the award, and carries on the tradition of All-Americans Rice (1986 & 1987), Rob Gramer (2000), Treavor Peterson (2003), Erick Galt (2011) and Caleb Suderman (2014).
Haslam, who transferred to Concordia after competing at SUNY-Oswego, helped the Cobbers to their 10th straight MIAC playoff appearance. Concordia finished in fourth place with a 9-6-1 league record. CC ended the year with a 12-12-2 overall mark.
Haslam was also named to the MIAC All-Conference Team after finishing third on the team in scoring in league games. He was also one of the top scoring defenseman in the MIAC in 2023. Haslam had two goals and 10 assists for 12 points.
His 17 assists in all games, led the MIAC in assists by a defenseman and was tied for fifth among all players in that statistical category. Haslam led Concordia in assists in their 26 overall games. He was third in total points with three goals and 17 assists for 20 points.
