COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (8/31/24)---It was a long night in the mountains for the Cobbers as they conceded four second-half goals and lost 7-0 at No.6-ranked Colorado College.
The Tigers, who advanced the Elite 8 in last year's NCAA National Tournament, scored a trio of goals in the first 45 minutes and then added four more in a span of 10-minutes in the second half to come away with their second straight win of the season.
The loss drops Concordia's record to 1-1 on the season. The Cobbers bettered Austin (Tex.) on Friday in a game played at Colorado College.
The Cobbers had a pair of shots in the game and freshman Noah Meyer came through with the only shot on goal which came in the opening 45-minutes of play. Fellow first-year player Xabier Citte posted the only other shot for CC.
Concordia used two goalies in the game. Senior Jensen Waltz made his second consecutive start of the season and played the first 64:37. He allowed seven goals and made seven saves. Freshman Camden Fauth turned aside two shots in his first collegiate appearance.
The Cobbers will head west again next weekend when they travel to Lincoln, Neb. To take on Simpson (Iowa) and Neb. Wesleyan.
