Cobbers Fall to Bethel in Hard-Fought Match
Concordia battled throughout a tightly contested match but couldn’t find the breakthrough, as Bethel scored twice late to secure a 2–0 victory over the Cobbers.
MOORHEAD, MINN. (9/27/25) – Concordia and Bethel battled through a hard-fought match in Moorhead, with the Royals pulling away late for a 2–0 victory.
The first half stayed scoreless despite Bethel generating most of the pressure. Cobber goalkeeper Jack Solheid came up big with several saves, while Jagger Hooper nearly gave Concordia the lead in the 13th minute before Bethel keeper Griffin Blokker turned him away. Ricco Rolle and Gannon Brooks also created chances as the teams went into halftime knotted 0–0.
Bethel broke through in the 74th minute when Crioni Menendez scored off a feed from Roy Kyle. Concordia nearly equalized shortly after, but Nickolaus Herrboldt's low strike was stopped by Blokker. The Royals sealed the win in the 89th minute on a goal from Jordan Ross, with assists from Carter Sheard and Minty Shady, handing Bethel the 2–0 result.
The Cobbers fall to 0-6-3 on the season and 0-2 in MIAC play. Maroon and Gold action resumes on September 30, when Concordia travels to Northfield to take on the Carleton Knights at 4:00 p.m.
