Youngs Resigns As Head Coach
Men’s tennis head coach David Youngs announced that he is resigning from his position effective immediately.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (12/02/25)---Men's tennis head coach David Youngs announced that he is resigning from his position effective immediately.
Youngs, who was named the MIAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year last season, was about to start his second season at the helm of the Cobber program.
"Concordia College is a special place, and it was the privilege of a lifetime to lead our men's tennis program," Youngs said. "I have the upmost confidence that the young men on our team will not only continue to succeed on the court, but go on to become wonderful employees, husbands, fathers, and stewards of the community."
Young guided Concordia to its first MIAC playoff berth since 2018 last year. The Cobbers finished with a 7-11 overall record and a 4-5 mark in conference play. Both win totals were also the most since the 2018 campaign.
Youngs was only the fifth Cobber coach to be named the MIAC Coach of the Year.
"I am so grateful for the time David was able to give to our men's tennis program," Athletic Director Rachel Bergeson said. "He will be missed but will continue to be a wonderful ambassador for the program."
Bergeson announced that a search for Youngs' replacement has already begun.
