Cobbers Finish Off Pre-MIAC Schedule
Concordia completed the pre-MIAC position of its schedule by competing at the UND Tune-Up meet. The Cobbers were paced by school record holders Cooper Folkestad and Tyler Evans and track athlete Jonas Hagemeister as all three came away with event wins.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (2/20/2026)---Concordia completed the pre-MIAC position of its schedule by competing at the UND Tune-Up meet. The Cobbers were paced by school record holders Cooper Folkestad and Tyler Evans and track athlete Jonas Hagemeister as all three came away with event wins.
Folkestad crossed the 60-foot line for the second meet this season in the shot put and won the event over 5 feet, while Evans claimed the title in the pole vault and Hagemeister claimed the win in the 800 meters.
Folkestad continued his national-leading season by showing up for the second time in the last three meets with a mark over 60 feet. He posted a distance of 60-00.25 on his sixth, and final, attempt to claim the event victory.
Folkestad's school record mark of 60-11.25, which he set on Feb. 7, still leads all of Division III this season.
Evans, who broke the school record in the pole vault last weekend, came through with an event-winning height of 14-09.00. He tried to better his school record of 15-02.75 on three occasions at 15-03.00 but narrowly missed on each attempt.
Hagemeister clocked a 2:01.99 in the 800 meters and won the event by 2.07 seconds over teammate Tyler Goss.
Goss also placed sixth in the mile with a personal-best time of 4:23.87.
Senior Nolan Morical had another outstanding meet. He placed third in the 60-meter dash and was ninth in the 200 meters. Morical's top time in the 60 meters came in the finals when he crossed the line in 7.12. His time of 22.74 in the 200 is a season best.
The Cobbers had a trio of runners finish in the Top 5 in the 60-meter hurdles. Logan Clark led the pack with a third-place finish at 8.71. Hayden Hauf was fourth at 9.26 and James Kirch had a season-best time of 9.83 and placed fifth.
Ben LePard and Chris Verdier had the other Top 3 finishes at the meet for CC. LePard cleared 5-07.75 and was third in the high jump and Verdier placed third in the triple jump at 42-06.25.
Concordia will now turn its attention to the MIAC Championship Meet which will take place on Feb. 26-28 at Carleton.
