Folkestad Becomes First 4-Time Indoor All-American
Cooper Folkestad closed out his indoor career by becoming the first 4-time indoor All-American in program history as he finished third in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championship Meet.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (3/14/26)—-Senior Cooper Folkestad (Wadena, Minn./Wadena-Deer Creek HS) closed out his indoor career by earning his fourth All-American honor.
Folkestad finished third in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet to grab his fifth All-American award.
Folkestad becomes the first 4-time indoor All-American in program history.
The third-place finish is the highest place at a national meet in his college career. His previous best came last year at the indoor meet when he placed fourth in the shot put.
Folkestad's Top 3 finish distance came on his final attempt in the prelims. He let go a throw of 58-08.75 and qualified for the finals.
He was in third place heading into the last three throws of the finals and stayed in third as he was unable to better his mark on his third attempt.
