Tyler Goss (Devils Lake, N.D.) finished off his breakout junior season by claiming All-American Second Team honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship Meet.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (5/22/26)---Tyler Goss (Devils Lake, N.D.) finished off his breakout junior season by claiming All-American Second Team honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship Meet.
Goss clocked a 9:13.97 in the finals and moved up one spot from his No.12 position in the prelims on Thursday. His finishing time was a scant .74 of a second out of the Top 10 in the race.
The 11th-place finish earns Goss his very first All-American honor and he becomes the fifth Cobber to receive Outdoor All-American honors in the last two seasons. Goss is also the third Concordia athlete to garner an All-American award in the steeplechase. He joins that features his brother Brady and Cobber Hall of Famer and Jason Trichler. Brady Goss captured his honor last season while Trichler finished fifth in the steeplechase in 1992.
Tyler Goss' fastest lap of the finals came in his final trip around the oval when he posted a 1:11.03. He also posted a sub-1:12.00 lap in his third lap of the race.
