JAMESTOWN, N.D. (2/21/26)---Concordia put together a late push with two runs in the sixth inning, but the Cobbers couldn't overcome an early deficit and fell 4–3 to Minot State in the first game on Day 2 at the Nelson Family Bubble Tournament in Jamestown.
Minot State struck quickly with two runs in the first and single tallies in the third and fourth to build a 4–1 lead. Concordia responded in the second when Megan Guggisberg singled and later scored on a run‑scoring hit from Charlotte Bertram.
The Cobbers mounted their biggest threat in the sixth. Morgan Guggisberg reached on an infield single, and after an error extended the inning, Megan Guggisberg delivered her second hit of the game to drive home a run and cut the deficit to 4–2. Moments later, Jocelyn Maki lifted a sacrifice fly to right to bring in Reese Hauck and make it a one‑run game.
Concordia had the tying run reach in both the sixth and seventh innings, but a pair of defensive plays by Minot State closed the door.
Concordia finished with 10 hits, led by a pair of multi‑hit performances. Megan Guggisberg went 2‑for‑3 with an RBI, while Olivia Olberding was 2-for-3 to post the first 2-hit game of her Cobber career. Kate Gulbranson and Maki each chipped in run‑producing contact. Bertram also drove in a run as part of the Cobbers' 3‑run output for the game.
Lauren Kohlgraf started the game and was relieved by senior Mallory Leitner in the second inning. Leitner was strong in relief, working six innings and allowing just two earned runs while holding the Beavers scoreless over her final four frames.
