MELBOURNE, Fla. (3/2/26) — Concordia-Moorhead cut a three-run deficit to one but couldn't complete the comeback in a 4–3 loss to New England College on Monday morning.
The Cobbers struck first in the opening inning. Kailee Falconer led off with a double to right center and later scored on an RBI double down the left-field line by Megan Guggisberg to give Concordia a 1–0 lead.
New England answered in the bottom half when Makayla Halley delivered an RBI single to even the game at 1–1.
The decisive frame came in the third. After a leadoff bunt single and a walk, Halley came through again with a run-scoring single to center. An outfield error allowed another run to score on the play, and Ashleigh Lemay followed with an RBI groundout to push the lead to 4–1.
Concordia responded in the fifth. Cate Kehoe singled to left center to start the rally, and Reese Hauck blasted a two-run homer to left field, her first of the season, to trim the deficit to 4–3.
