MELBOURNE, Fla. (3/04/26)---Concordia couldn't overcome a fast start by Albright, falling 9–2 in the first game on Da3 of their annual spring trip to Florida.
It's the first loss of the spring trip for CC, who are now 3-6 on the season.
Albright scored three runs in the first inning and added three more in the second to build an early 6–0 lead before the Cobbers were able to answer.
Concordia's offense broke through in the third when Cate Kehoe launched a solo home run to left, and Reese Hauck followed with an RBI single that scored Kailee Falconer, cutting the deficit to 6–2. The Cobbers produced three hits in the inning, including a single from Megan Guggisberg, but were unable to continue the momentum.
Albright steadily rebuilt its cushion with single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Concordia threatened at times, getting seven hits in the game, including multiple-hit performances from Megan Guggisberg and Kate Gulbranson, but could not string enough offense together to close the gap.
Kehoe and Hauck drove in the Cobber runs, while Guggisberg's double in the sixth gave Concordia a late spark.
Kegen Coulson and Mallory Leitner handled pitching duties, with Leitner working the final five innings and allowing only two earned runs.
Concordia will finish off Day 3 by facing Rose-Hulman at 1:30 p.m.
