3-Point Queen Leads Cobbers To Key MIAC Win
Carlee Sieben broke the school record for 3-pointers in a career, finished with a game-high 24 points and led the Cobbers to a critical win at St. Benedict. Concordia has now beaten the Bennies in seven straight games.
ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (2/8/25)---Cobber fans can pick the top storyline from Concordia's 83-73 win at St. Benedict.
Was it the crucial road win against the top conference rival that pushed Concordia into a tie for fourth place with the Bennies in the MIAC standings? Or was it senior guard Carlee Sieben becoming the program's all-time 3-point field goal leader?
We'll let you make the choice.
The Cobbers never trailed for the final 15 minutes of the marquee MIAC match-up and used a 34-point fourth quarter to seal the victory in a game that gave Concordia a 7-game win streak against St. Benedict.
Sieben entered the game needing four 3-pointers to break the school record of 180 set by current assistant coach Alley Fisher from 2012-15. Sieben connected on her record-setting shot from behind the arc at the 4:50 mark of the third quarter. The record breaker came on the second of back-to-back shots from distance on consecutive CC possessions for Sieben.
The win ups the Cobbers season record to 14-7. Concordia is 9-5 in conference play with four games remaining in the regular season. St. Benedict has its 5-game win streak come to a crashing halt and has identical records to CC in all games and league play.
Concordia led 31-30 and outscored the Bennies 18-14 in the third quarter before putting their foot on the gas pedal in the fourth quarter to pull away with the 10-point win.
