Metcalf Adds D3hoops.Com All-Region First Team Honors To Her Resume
Sophomore Maya Metcalf (West Fargo, N.D./West Fargo Sheyenne HS) added to her postseason award cabinet by being named to the D3hoops.com All-Region Region 9 First Team.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/16/26)---First it was the Cobbers' team on the national stage and now it's time for individual honors to step into the spotlight.
Sophomore Maya Metcalf (West Fargo, N.D./West Fargo Sheyenne HS) added to her postseason award cabinet by being named to the D3hoops.com All-Region Region 9 First Team.
Metcalf, who helped Concordia advance to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament over the weekend, becomes the first Cobber player to earn D3hoops.com All-Region First Team honors since Emily Thesing received the honor in 2013. Metcalf is only the third player in program history to earn D3hoops.com All-Region First Team honors since the organization started handing out the award in 2002.
Metcalf receives the All-Region First Team honor on the heels of being named the MIAC Offensive and Defensive Player of Year. She was also placed on the MIAC All-Conference Team.
Metcalf led Concordia in scoring, rebounding and blocks in 2026. She averaged 16.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in the 31 games she played in during the season.
Metcalf finished the year with 509 points to become only the eighth player in program history to reach the 500-point mark for a single season.
Her total of 262 rebounds for the year ranks among the Top 10 in Cobber school history as well.
Metcalf scored at least 10 points in 26 games and crossed the 20-point mark on eight occasions. Metcalf's highwater mark for points came against St. Catherine when she netted 32 points to become only the 10th player in program lore t score at least 30 points in a single game.
Metcalf had eight games where she collected at least 10 rebounds and had a career-high 22 boards in Concordia's Sweet 16 win over Johns Hopkins. The 22 rebounds were the fourth highest single-game total by a CC player in history.
Metcalf was fourth in the MIAC in scoring, third in rebounds and second in blocked shots.
