Cobbers Copy Storyline, Finish 7th At Bemidji St. Invite

BEMIDJI, Minn. (9/10/24)---The Cobbers used the same storyline as their opening meet of the season – start slow and then go low on Day 2.

Concordia opened with a 380 on the first day of the Bemidji State Tracy Lane Invite on Monday and then rallied to post a 373 on Tuesday. The 2-day total of 753 earned the Cobbers a 7th-place finish in the team standings.

Sophomore Addicyn Zimmerman led Concordia for the second straight tournament to open the 2024 season. Zimmerman was the most consistent Cobber golfer at the meet over the two days. She shot a 90 on Day 1 and then came home with an 89 on Tuesday. She was one of only two CC players to shoot a round in the 80's at the invite.

Zimmerman's 2-round total of 179 earned her a 24th-place finish which is her highest finish for the maroon and gold in her college career.

Senior Joslynn Leach was the other CC golfer to fire a score in the 80's over the two days. She started with a 96 and then matched Zimmerman's 89 on Day 2. Her total of 185 pushed her inside the Top 32 for the tournament.

Leach leads the Cobbers in scoring this season. She has an average of 91.8 over the first four rounds of 2024.

Abbey Hardwick was the No.3 golfer for Concordia. She opened with a 96 and then finished with a 98.

Madi Ramler and Lauren Lamp were the final two members of the Cobber scoring team. Ramler went 99-97 for a total of 196 and Lamp was two shots behind with a 198 (98-100).

The Cobbers will head to the Twin Cities for their third meet of the year. CC will compete in the St. Catherine Fall Invite on Sept. 14-15. The opening round will be played at Braemer GC in Edina which is the site for this year's MIAC Championship Meet.
