Cobbers Turn Back The Clock At D3 Classic
Concordia continued its upward trend and kept turning back the clocks at the Gustavus D3 Classic. First-year players Nora Benson and Aubry Zimmerman went mega-low on Day 1 and then all five Cobber golfers posted scores in the 80s on Sunday as CC finished in 13th place in the final team standings.
HASTINGS, Minn. (9/14/25)---Concordia continued its upward trend and kept turning back the clock at the Gustavus D3 Classic. First-year players Nora Benson and Aubry Zimmerman went mega-low on Day 1 and then all five Cobber golfers posted scores in the 80s on Sunday as CC finished in 13th place in the final team standings.
Concordia ended the tournament with a 2-day total of 670, which is their lowest team total in a 2-day meet since the 2012 season when the Cobbers came away with a 2-round total of 667 at the Mustang Invite.
Individually, Benson went back to 2003 with her score in the opening round on Saturday. Benson posted a scorecard with 15 pars, a birdie, a bogey and a double bogey and signed for a 74. That score was the lowest by a Concordia athlete since Katie Taylor fired a 74 at the NCAA Championship Meet in 2003.
Zimmerman was only two shots off of Benson's pace on Day 1 after carding a 76 with 13 pars and a birdie.
Zimmerman backed up her opening round of 76 with an 82 on Sunday and was the team's No.1 finisher with a 158. Her score on Day 2 included a pair of birdies which allowed her to place in a tie for 20th place in the final individual standings.
Zimmermans's 2-round total of 158 was the lowest score by a Cobber at a 2-day meet since Sept. 14, 2003 when Katie Taylor won the Bison-Dragon Invite with a total of 156.
Benson was one shot behind Zimmerman in the final standings. She posted a score of 85 on Sunday and came home with a total of 159. That score was good for a tie for 23rd place.
Addicyn Zimmerman put up a pair of scores in the 80s over the weekend and came away with a total of 175. She opened with an and then cut that total by three shots with an 86 on Sunday in a round that included a pair of birdies.
Madi Ramler and Lauren Lamp came through with scores in the 80s on Day 2 to help CC record their lowest team total in 13 years.
Ramler finished as the team's No.4 golfer. She went out in 90 and came back in with an 88. It marked the second time this season she has shot below 90 for a round.
Lamp came through with her season-best single round score and 2-round total of the year. She shot an 89 on Sunday after opening the tournament with a 97.
Concordia will look to continue its success when it competes at the St. Catherine Fall Invite on Sept. 20-21.
