Sauvageau Named MIAC Offensive Player Of The Week
Senior Morgan Sauvageau (Fargo, N.D./Fargo Davies HS) used her 5-point weekend in Concordia’s sweep over St. Scholastica to earn MIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/19/26)---Senior Morgan Sauvageau (Fargo, N.D./Fargo Davies HS) used her 5-point weekend in Concordia's sweep over St. Scholastica to earn MIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Sauvageau had four assists in the Cobbers' 5-3 win on Friday and then added a goal in the 5-2 victory on Saturday.
It marks the first time in her career that Sauvageau has earned a conference player of the week award. She joins teammates Anna Nelson and Abby Huselid as winners of the weekly honor this season. Nelson was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week and Huselid claimed Defensive Player of the Week honors on Nov. 25 after CC beat No.7-ranked Gustavus.
Sauvageau assisted on four of the team's five goals on Friday which included setting up the game-winning goal midway through the third period after CC trailed 3-2 with 15:00 left in the final period. Her four assists in the game are tied for the most in any NCAA Division III women's hockey contest this season.
She then started Concordia's streak of four unanswered goals in the third period on Saturday when she scored the game-tying goal at 2:36 of the period.
Sauvageau leads Concordia in assists (10) and is second in total points (14) this season. Her assist total is also tied for second in the MIAC.
