#24 Concordia and #2 Augsburg combined for seven pins in their dual match in Minneapolis. Ty Bisek and Cade Lundeen got the pins for CC but it wasn't enough as they lost 40-12.
Concordia took time out from stock-piling impressive regional results to completely shut down Jamestown in a dual meet. The Cobbers won all seven contested matches against the Jimmies and put up a 50-0 beat down in Jamestown.
It was a 629-mile road trip to Illinois for the Cobbers in their first multi-team invitational of 2023, but the results were well worth the bus miles. Concordia had eight wrestlers post Top 6 finishes at the Elmhurst Al Hanke Invitational which helped the team place second in the 18-team meet.
The trip across 8th Street has been kind to Concordia this year. In November the Cobbers beat the host Dragons in a dual meet, and on Saturday they returned to Nemzek Fieldhouse and recorded a dozen Top 6 finishes at the Dragon Open.
Sophomore Ty Bisek earned his second individual tournament title of the season and led a group of eight Cobber wrestlers who all posted Top 5 finishes at the Augsburg Invitational.
Ayden Friese won the first match, and Gabe Zierden claimed the victory in the final match as Concordia beat crosstown rival MSU Moorhead for the 11th time in the last 12 outings.
Concordia had four individuals win weight-class championships, and had four others post Top 3 finishes at the season-opening Jimmie Open.
