Swanson Uses 6-Match Win Streak To Jump Into The National Rankings
Spurred on by his 6-match win steak, Concordia senior Mason Swanson (Willmar, Minn.) has jumped into the Top 15 in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) national individual rankings.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/23/26)---Spurred on by his 6-match win steak, Concordia senior Mason Swanson (Willmar, Minn.) has jumped into the Top 15 in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) national individual rankings.
Swanson is now ranked 13th at 285 in the latest Division III poll. It is the first time this season he has been placed in the Top 15 of the country.
Swanson earned his national ranking by winning six straight which included a 4-2 decision over Wyatt Smith of Coe who was ranked No.15 at the time of the dual meet at the NWCA National Duals. Swanson placed first in the 285-lb division at last weekend's North Country Invitational hosted by St. John's.
Swanson is 10-3 on the season and is one of six Cobber athletes to have at least 10 wins on the season.
Swanson also has five pins on the year which is third most of any Concordia wrestler this year.
Swanson has 48 wins in his career as a Cobbers.
