Overtime Remains Unkind
For the second straight conference game the Cobbers lost in overtime.

FARGO, N.D. (10/15/19)---Overtime continues to remain unkind to the Cobbers. On Saturday, Concordia lost in the first 30 seconds at the start of overtime at Macalester. On Tuesday, the Cobbers gave up the game-winning goal in the final 30 seconds of overtime.
Concordia battled No.19-ranked St. Thomas for 109 minutes with neither team being able to get on the scoreboard. The game changed in the waning seconds when the Tommies earned a corner kick on the right side of the field. UST was able to serve the ball into the penalty area where an attacker gained control of the ball and fired a shot which was stopped. The ball came directly back to the same player who then fired a shot into the net.
It marks the second straight overtime loss for the Cobbers and Concordia falls to 8-6-0 in all games on the season. CC is 1-6-0 in conference play. St. Thomas remains unbeaten in the last five games and is 8-2-2 in all games and 4-1-1 in the MIAC.
Concordia's best chances of the game came in the first half off the wing play from Karsen Granning and Klara Beinhorn and the forward action of senior Kalli Baarstad. Granning got free on the wing behind the St. Thomas defense on several occasions in the first 45 minutes but was never able to turn the corner and get to the net.
Beinhorn had the only shot on goal for the Cobbers.
The Cobbers were outshot 16-2 in total shots in the game and 9-1 in shots on goal. The majority of the Tommie shots came from on top of the penalty area.
Concordia starting goalie Lexi Jemtrud had to leave the game in the 87th minute of play when she suffered an injury after colliding with an attacking player. Jemtrud didn't allow a goal and made five saves in the game.
Erin Larsen entered the game at the 86:42 mark and made three saves in the final 23:04.
UP NEXT: Concordia will look to snap their OT streak when they play at St. Mary's on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 3:30 p.m. The Cardinals are 6-6-1 in all games and 0-6-1 in the MIAC.
