MORRIS, MINN. (9/1/2025) – Concordia-Moorhead came out strong, testing UMM goalkeeper CJ Frear-Boerner early in the match. Junior forward Emma Sheflo led the charge with a pair of shots in the first 10 minutes, while Julia Roark was steady in goal, making key saves to keep the Cobbers in the game.
Throughout the match, the Cobbers made several substitutions to look for a breakthrough. Darby Hannan and Kara Ellis were active in the attack, putting multiple shots on frame, but Frear-Boerner was up to the task, denying some of the team's best opportunities.
In the second half, the Cobbers continued to press, with Abby Feddema, Briella Kiley, and Addison Ellis testing the Cougars' defense. The Cobbers controlled stretches of possession and earned multiple corner kicks, but they couldn't find the back of the net. Strong defending and consistent goalkeeping from UMM kept the score even.
Both teams showed grit and determination, finishing in a 0-0 draw. Concordia tallied 21 shots on goal, led by Sheflo's five, while Roark made three key saves.
The Cobbers return home to face Northwestern on Friday, September 5, at 2:00 p.m., looking to turn their chances into goals.
