Wis.-La Crosse Tops Concordia in Non-Conference Match
The Concordia women’s soccer team traveled to Wisconsin-La Crosse on Sunday for a tough non-conference test. Facing a fast-paced Eagles squad, the Cobbers fought hard from the opening whistle, showing grit and determination even as the scoreboard wasn’t in their favor.

La Crosse, Wis. (9/21/25) — The Concordia College women's soccer team fell to Wis.-La Crosse 5-0 on Sunday in a non-conference matchup. Despite strong defensive efforts and solid goaltending, the Cobbers were unable to find the back of the net against the visiting Eagles.
Wisconsin-La Crosse jumped out to an early lead in the second minute as Monica Wawrzyn converted a pass from Aubree Caya. The Eagles extended their advantage in the ninth minute when Caya scored with assists from Jillian Sawadski and Wawrzyn. Amaya Thesing added another goal in the 13th minute, followed by Natalia Stadler's score in the 36th minute to make it 4-0 heading into the second half. Wisconsin-La Crosse sealed the victory in the 80th minute when Sera Speltz added the fifth goal.
The Eagles kept the Concordia defense busy throughout the contest, firing 36 shots, 14 on target. Julia Roark made eight saves in goal, keeping the Cobbers in the match during key moments. Concordia generated three total shots, including two from Emma Sheflo and one from Darby Hannan, showing glimpses of offensive opportunities despite the scoreline.
Concordia returns home Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. matchup against Bethel.
