Cobbers Score, But Can't Hold Back Bethel

MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/27/25)---Concordia scored its first goal of the season but it wasn't enough as they dropped a 4-1 decision to Bethel at home on Saturday.
First-year player Kate Corradi broke the Cobbers' scoring drought when she knocked home a rebound in the fourth minute of the second half. The goal came after Concordia had a pair of shots on net that were stopped by the Bethel goalie.
Bethel (1-7-1, 1-2-0) opened the scoring at the 4:55 mark of the first half on a shot from distance and then doubled the lead in the 35th minute of play. The Royals jumped to a 3-0 lead in the third minute of the second half before Corradi brought CC to within two goals with her rebound strike.
Bethel finished off the scoring with a tally at 72:53.
Both teams had multiple chances in the game that went up-and-down the field. The teams combined for 17 corner kicks in the game with the Royals coming away with a 9-8 margin.
Bethel held a 20-14 advantage in total shots and a 11-8 edge in shots on goal.
Corradi, Ella Shinn, Emma Sheflo, Kara Ellis and Darby Hannan all had two total shots in the game with Corradi, Sheflo and Ellis posting a team-high two shots on frame.
First-year goalie Julia Roark made saves in the game which included a couple of breakaways and a full out stretch to turn a shot over the crossbar.
Concordia will travel to Northfield for a midweek game against regionally-ranked Carleton on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 3:30 p.m.
