EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (10/26/25) — The Concordia women's soccer team put together a strong second-half push and cut the deficit to one, but their late rally came up short in a 2-1 loss at UW–Eau Claire on Sunday afternoon.
After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, the Cobbers found their rhythm in the second, outshooting the Blugolds 14-4 after the break and controlling much of the possession. Concordia's pressure finally paid off in the 84th minute when Ella Shinn buried a low shot inside the right post for her second goal of the season, trimming the margin to 2-1.
The Cobbers continued to press for an equalizer as Emma Sheflo and Kara Ellis each created scoring chances late, but the Blugold defense held firm through the closing minutes.
Goalkeeper Anna Nelson kept Concordia in the match with a career-high performance, making seven saves.
Concordia is back on the field November 1, hosting their final game of the season with a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
