Cobbers Cap MIAC With Pair Of Top 12 Finishes
A pair of top 12 individual finishes and another career-best relay time capped the Cobbers’ MIAC Meet. Molly Hansvick placed second in 1-meter diving.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (2/18/12)—A pair of top 12
individual finishes and another career-best relay time capped the
Cobbers' final day at the MIAC Championship Meet. Molly
Hansvick placed second in the 1-meter diving event,
Hannah Winge posted an 11th place
finish in the 200-yard breaststroke and the 400-yard freestyle
relay team finished eighth as Concordia placed eighth in the final
standings at the conference meet.
Concordia finished with a final teams score of 154 points which
was 22 points better than ninth-pace St. Mary's. Gustavus won the
women's conference meet with a final total of 687 points.
Hansvick earned the team's only all-conference award at the meet.
She had a total of 383.65 points in the finals of the 1-meter
competition and earned her second straight top 5 finish in the
1-meter event at the MIAC Meet. Hansvick's second-place finish is
the highest of her career at the conference meet.
Winge capped a successful first-year conference meet. She swam a
2:32.01 in the prelim heat of the 200-yard breaststroke and missed
out on the championship heat by less than a second. Her time was a
career best by a full 10 seconds. Winge went on to finish
11th in the consolation final with a time of 232.81.
Winge also scored team points in the 100-yard breaststroke by
placing 12th in Friday night's final.
For the third straight night Concordia ended the night session
with a career-best relay finish. On Saturday the 400-yard freestyle
quartet of Alexis Philbrick, Amanda
Suchanek, Greta Titus and Kirsten
Anderson clocked a 3:49.92 and finished eighth. The relay
teams entered the event with a seeded time of 4:00.50.
The other top event of the night for the Cobbers was the 1650-yard
freestyle. Concordia had three swimmers entered in the vent and all
three finished in the top 20 by notching career-best times.
Philbrick led the CC crew with a final time of 19:25.33.
