Cobbers Start 2025 At MSU Moorhead Dragon Invite
WEST FARGO, N.D. (1/11/25)---Concordia kicked off the 2025 portion of its schedule by competing at the MSU Moorhead Dragon Invite at the Hulbert Aquatic Center.
The Cobbers, who only recently returned from their annual training trip to Florida, had multiple Top 20 finishes at the meet where Concordia was the only Division III school among five other DII programs.
The Concordia swim crew was led by senior Hailey Jaeger and first-year swimmer Leah Enedy. Both athletes competed in multiple individual events, as well as relays, and both posted Top 20 finishes.
Jaeger recorded the top finish for a CC swimmer at the meet. She placed 12th in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 57.59. The 100 free was one of six individual events that Jaeger competed in at the meet. She also recorded Top 20 marks in the 200-yard freestyle, 50-yard freestyle and the 50-yard backstroke.
Enedy also swam in six events over the two days. Her best finish came in the 200-yard breaststroke where she clocked a 2:43.75 and placed 13th. Enedy also had Top 20 finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard individual medley and 50-yard butterfly. Her time of 29.42 in the 50-yard butterfly was a season-best mark.
The other Top 20 finishes for Concordia were turned in by senior Haley Imholte, juniors Christina Moore and Tinsley Porter and first-year athlete Estella Zwietelhofer. Imholte placed in the Top 20 in both the 200-yard backstroke and 100-yard breaststroke with times of 2:53.30 and 1:21.01. Moore swam a 1:13.15 and finished in 18th place in the 100-yard backstroke, while Porter was 20th in the 50-yard butterfly at 32.93. Zwietelhofer came home with a 19th-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:19.63.
Senior diver Kiernan Darling competed in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. She finished in the Top 10 in both competitions. She recorded a score of 279.51 in the 1-meter and had a mark of 309.85 in the 3-meter.
Concordia's top relay came at the end of the meet where the quartet of Jaeger, Enedy, Porter and Rachel Bringle placed 13th in a time of 4:06.01.
The Cobbers will have two weeks to prepare for their next competitions. CC will host MSU Moorhead in a dual meet on Friday, Jan. 24 and the University of Mary on Saturday, Jan. 25.
