Egge Leads Cobbers At St. Olaf

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (5/01/21)---Sophomore Raquel Egge led Concordia in the final match of the 2021 season. Egge claimed a straight-set victory to earn the Cobbers' only win in an 8-1 loss at St. Olaf.

Egge started the singles competition by breaking her opponent's serve early and rolling to a 6-3 win in the first set at No.1 singles. She repeated the performance in the second set and finished off the match with a 6-3 victory in the second set.

The singles win was Egge's team-leading fifth of the season. She also finished conference play with four singles victories. Egge has 12 victories in her two seasons as the Cobbers No.1 singles player.

Egge partnered with Jenna Forknell at No.1 doubles to start the match on Saturday. The pair lost 8-2 and finished the year with a team-best four doubles victories.

The other close doubles match came in the No.3 bout. Taylor Partington and Abby Westrum partnered for only the second time this year and lost 8-2.

Forknell and freshman Greta Reichmann were the other two singles players to take games in their matches. Both players lost 6-1, 6-1.
