Concordia junior Peyton Selle was named the MIAC Indoor Meet Most Outstanding Field Athlete after winning the conference pentathlon for the second straight season.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/02/23)---Concordia junior Peyton Selle (Dickinson, N.D.) added her name to the impressive list of Cobber athletes to win post-MIAC Meet honors.
Selle used her win in the conference pentathlon to earn MIAC Indoor Meet Most Outstanding Field Athlete. She becomes the fifth Concordia athlete to win MIAC indoor meet honors since 1999. Selle is the first field athlete to win Most Outstanding Field Athlete at an indoor conference meet since Emma Peterson was honored with the award in 2017.
Cayle Hovland was the last Cobber track & field athlete to win a post-MIAC Meet award when she was named the Most Outstanding Field Athlete at the 2021 MIAC Outdoor Meet.
Selle was selected by the conference coaches as the Most Outstanding Field Athlete by winning her second consecutive pentathlon title in NCAA-qualifying fashion.
Selle won indoor multi-event title by 30 points. She finished with 3,240 points which is a career best and the No.15 total in Division III this season.
Selle's final total was also a career high, and No.3 on the Cobbers' all-time list. The final score of 3,240 points is also a 142-point improvement over her winning total in 2022.
In addition to winning the pentathlon, Selle also earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors by finishing fifth in the high jump with a height of 4-11.75.
Selle capped her third MIAC Indoor Meet by helping the Cobber 4x400-meter relay team finish fifth.
