Concordia sophomore Chloe Mueffelmann (Cold Spring, Minn./ROCORI HS) earned All-American Second Team honors by finishing 15th in the shot put at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship Meet.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (5/22/26)---Concordia sophomore Chloe Mueffelmann (Cold Spring, Minn./ROCORI HS) earned All-American Second Team honors by finishing 15th in the shot put at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship Meet.
Mueffelmann came up with a distance of 42-09.00 on her second attempt to receive the All-American Second Team honor – an award that was started in Division III in 2024 to recognize finishers 9 through 16.
Mueffelman, who qualified for nationals with a mark of 44-08.25 which she posted last week in La Crosse, narrowly missed out on qualifying for the finals as her mark of 42-09.00 was only 17 inches away from the Top 9 in the first three throws which would have gotten her into the finals.
Mueffelmann becomes the first Cobber to earn All-American honors since 2017 when Emma Peterson was second in the high jump and Mikayla Forness was fifth in the javelin.
Mueffelmann opened the national meet with a throw of 40-0.50 on her first attempts. She then posted her All-American distance on attempt No.2 before fouling on her final throw.
