Concordia trailed Minn.-Morris in almost all statistical categories but came away with a 25-21, 25-22, 25-22 sweep over the Cougars.

STORY LINE: Concordia used a 9-3 run midway through the first set to grab control of their non-conference match at Minn.-Morris and went on to sweep the Cougars 25-21, 25-22, 25-22. The Cobbers never trailed after their decisive streak which turned a 10-6 deficit into a 15-13 lead.
  
RECORDS: The Cobbers put an end to their 5-match losing streak and move to 9-16 overall. Concordia finishes off their non-conference slate with a 5-11 mark. Morris has their 4-match win streak, which started with their win over the Cobbers last week in Moorhead, come to a halt and falls to 20-11 on the year. The match is the last regular-season contest for the Cougars who will play in the UMAC tournament after finishing third in the standings with a 13-3 record.
    
IT ONLY COUNTS ON THE SCOREBOARD: Concordia trailed Morris in almost every statistical category but came away with the straight-set win. The Cobbers hit .111 in the match as compared to .162 for the Cougars. UMM also held a 36-31 edge in total kills and a 49-44 margin in digs. CC did win the block category as they put up 14 blocks as compared to 12 for Morris.
    
COUGAR BLOCK PARTY: Freshman Kendra Wiggs led Concordia in blocks. She recorded a career-high eight blocks. Wiggs posted seven blocks last week against the Cougars. She leads the team in rejections with 73.

CAREER-HIGH KILLS FOR CUPPETT: Senior Haley Cuppett led Concordia with 10 kills.Those 10 winners pushed her season total to a team-high 232 kills which is the most in a single season for Cuppett. Her previous best came last year when she had 228 kills.    

TURNING THE DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Sophomore setter Lexi Turn had a team-high 12 assists and also came away with 10 digs in the match. That marks the third time in the last seven matches she has recorded a "double-double".

ACE HIGH: Sophomore Jill Klaphake record a career high in service aces. Klaphake had five service winners against the Cougars which bettered her total of four from earlier in the year against Macalester. Klaphake now has a team-high 36 aces on the year. She is currently tied for fourth in the MIAC in that stat category.  

UP NEXT: Concordia will finish off a 4-match road trip when they play at St. Catherine on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. The Wildcats are 13-11 in all matches this season and 2-7 in MIAC play. They are currently on a 2-match win streak after beating Crown and Hamline this past weekend.
