9-Life Cobbers Are Still Not Out

Concordia gave up a goal in the first 20 seconds against St. Mary's, fell into a 3-0 hole and lost 4-3 in the series opener. The good news is that the Cobbers still have a chance to make the MIAC playoffs.

Down But Not Out In Playoff Quest

Concordia is down but not out in its quest for its 11th consecutive MIAC playoff appearance. The Cobbers rallied to take the lead in the third period of the series finale in St. Peter but then gave up a goal in the final 5 minutes of regulation and one more with 56 seconds left in overtime and lost 5-4.

Playoff Hockey Arrives Early In Moorhead

Playoff hockey arrived early in Moorhead, with two of the Top 5 teams in the MIAC battling to a 2-2 overtime tie at the Moorhead Sports Center. Concordia and Augsburg played a tight-checking, high-intense game that was befitting of a conference tournament showdown.

If the last 15 games in conference play are anything like the opener, then Cobber fans are in for one whale of a season. Concordia and St. John’s traded goals until senior captain Cole O’Connell won the game with a goal in the first minute of overtime to give the Cobbers a dramatic 4-3 win over the Johnnies.
