Just when it looked like Concordia was headed to a 2-2 tie against Augsburg after freshman Owen Gallo tied the game with 6:27 left in the second half, the Auggies scored a pair of goals in a span of 3:08 and came away with a 4-2 win.
Concordia conceded a penalty kick in the 70th minute of play and lost 1-0 at St. Mary’s. The Cobbers held a statistical advantage in shots and corner kicks, but couldn’t come up with an equalizer and lost by a single goal for the second time in 2023.
Concordia scored the first two goals of their MIAC game at Hamline, before the Pipers countered with two straight of their own and pushed the game to a 2-2 tie.
A pair of goals in the second half sent Concordia to its second straight conference loss at home. The Cobbers were tied with nationally-ranked Macalester at the halftime break but allowed a goal in the 53rd minute of play and the backbreaker in the 81st minute and fell 3-1.
The season-long storyline repeated itself for the Cobbers at Dakota Wesleyan – Leo Dunor scored, and goalie Jensen Waltz stopped a penalty shot as Concordia beat the Tigers 2-1.
