It was quality over quantity in the outdoor opener for Concordia. Because of the holiday weekend, the Cobbers took a select group to the USD Early Bird Invite, and came away with a pair of school records and a Top 10 national mark.

Concordia seniors Hayden Gagnon (South Haven, Minn.) and Cal Wright (Mora, Minn.) were both named to the USTFCCCA North All-Region Indoor Track & Field Team for finishing in the Top 5 in an event in the region for the indoor season.

Senior Hayden Gagnon received word that he is officially in the NCAA Division III National Indoor Meet. Gagnon qualified in the 400M with his time on Saturday and will compete at the DIII Meet on Mar. 10-11 in Birmingham, Ala.

Cal Wright broke the school record in the 200 meters, and helped the Cobber 4x200-meter relay team with the event at the MIAC Indoor Meet.

Cal Wright led the Cobber contingent on the final day at the MIAC Indoor Meet. He helped the 4x200-meter relay team capture the conference title and then broke the 9-year-old school record in the 200 meters.

Sophomore Anthony Marsh was the top finishers for the Cobbers on Day 1 at the MIAC Meet. He placed second in the high jump.

Concordia opened the 2023 indoor season by hosting the annual Cobber Open. Senior Solomon Johnson and sophomore Joe Lee led the team as they posted event wins at the meet that didn’t feature team scores.
