Concordia had five student-athletes recognized as Academic All-District selected by the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA ) in the track & field/cross country category.
Seniors Cal Wright and Wade Rhonemus capped their outstanding seasons by posting Top 15 finishes at the Division III Outdoor National Championship Meet.
Concordia multi-eventers Wade Rhonemus and Peyton Selle, as well as 400-meter phenom Cal Wright have all officially qualified for the NCAA Division III National Outdoor Track & Field meet on May 25-27 in Rochester, N.Y.
Cal Wright earned two more USTFCCCA All-Region awards for his performances in the 200 and 400 meters. He now has nine career All-Region honors, which is the most in program history.
Senior Cal Wright broke his own school record in the 400 meters and Hayden Gagnon made a finishing kick in the 4x400-meter relay that gave the Cobbers an improbable 2nd-place finish in the event.
It was quality over quantity in the outdoor opener for Concordia. Because of the holiday weekend, the Cobbers took a select group to the USD Early Bird Invite, and came away with a pair of school records and a Top 10 national mark.
Concordia seniors Hayden Gagnon (South Haven, Minn.) and Cal Wright (Mora, Minn.) were both named to the USTFCCCA North All-Region Indoor Track & Field Team for finishing in the Top 5 in an event in the region for the indoor season.
Senior Hayden Gagnon received word that he is officially in the NCAA Division III National Indoor Meet. Gagnon qualified in the 400M with his time on Saturday and will compete at the DIII Meet on Mar. 10-11 in Birmingham, Ala.
Cal Wright led the Cobber contingent on the final day at the MIAC Indoor Meet. He helped the 4x200-meter relay team capture the conference title and then broke the 9-year-old school record in the 200 meters.
Concordia posted four Top 6 finishes on Day 1 at the MIAC Indoor Championship Meet. Sophomore Anthony Marsh led the charge with a second-place finish in the high jump.
Concordia opened the 2023 indoor season by hosting the annual Cobber Open. Senior Solomon Johnson and sophomore Joe Lee led the team as they posted event wins at the meet that didn’t feature team scores.
