LA CROSSE, Wis. (5/14/26)---Tyler Goss and Ethan Lebrija were the stars of the Concordia show at the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier Meet.
Goss ran a national-qualifying time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase while Lebrija broke the school record in the 200 meters.
The two Cobbers were a part of a quintet of athletes who were attempting to qualify for NCAA National Outdoor Championship Meet which will also be held at UW-La Crosse.
Goss entered the meet with a season-best time of 9:13.01 which he ran at the MIAC Championship Meet. That mark was good 9-seconds off the pace that was needed to place in the Top 22 of Division III and qualify for nationals.
Goss decided to leave no doubt as to whether he wanted to make the return trip to La Crosse as he dropped a full 10 seconds off his season-best time and crossed the line in a time of 9:02.17.
Goss' time jumps him all the way into the No.14 in the country and locks up his first-ever trip to a national meet. His mark of 9:02.17 is also No.2 on the school's all-time list.
Lebrija methodically tracked down the school record in the 100 meters over the past several meets. The program record in the event was held by teammate Nolan Morical with a mark of 10.86. Lebrija clocked an 11.00 at the MIAC Meet last weekend and before that ran a 10.89 at the Cobb Open.
The final race of his junior season didn't disappoint. He raced to a 10.79 in the third heat of the meet to bring down Morical's mark by .07 of a second.
Lebrija also competed in the 200 meters at La Crosse and posted a time of 21.95.
Tyler Evans, Sam Dioszeghy and Blake Houska were the only other Concordia athletes to compete at La Crosse.
Evans, the school record holder in the pole vault couldn't better his season-best mark of 15-09.00 which came at the SJU Invitational. Evans, who also won the MIAC Outdoor Meet, in the event cleared 15-05.50 at La Crosse.
Dioszeghy participated in the discus and came away with a season-best distance of 147-01 on his second attempt of the day. Dioszeghy also competed in the shot put and posted a mark of 48-10.75.
Houska rounded out the CC contingent. He also participated in the shot put and came away with a distance of 49-10.50 on his third attempt of the day.
Goss will learn about his national meet participation on Sunday, May 15.
