Cobbers Reap MIAC Postseason Awards
Concordia reaped the rewards of having a milestone season as head coach Kim Wagers and standout players Makayla Anderson, Emily Beseman and Carlee Sieben all received MIAC postseason honors.

Wagers was named the MIAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Cobbers to a 2nd-place finish with an 18-4 conference record. It was the highest league finish for Concordia since 2014, and the 18 MIAC victories are also the most since 2014.
Wagers becomes the first women's basketball coach to be voted as the Coach of Year since Jessica Rahman earned the award in 2009. Rahman also won the honor in 2005.
Anderson, Beseman and Sieben were all named to the MIAC All-Conference Team as voted on by the league coaches. Beseman and Sieben also earned MIAC All-Playoff Team honors – a new award that was initiated by the conference coaches this season.
All three players receive MIAC postseason honors for the first time in their careers.
All three players averaged in double figures in scoring for the team's 22 league games, and all three were in the Top 20 of the conference in scoring average.
Anderson led the team in rebounding with an 8.0 rebounds per game average. She was third in the conference in that stat category. Anderson was third on the team in scoring with a 10.7 ppg average. Her solid presence around the basket led to Anderson finishing fourth in the MIAC in field goal percentage (51.4%).
Anderson grabbed at least five rebounds in 18 of the 22 MIAC games, and came away with a career-high 15 rebounds against Hamline on Jan. 14.
Beseman finished the year in the Top 25 in the MIAC in scoring, rebounds and assists. She led the team in scoring at 14.5 ppg which was No.6 on the conference list. Beseman was third in the MIAC in assists per game (3.2), and ended the year with a 5.0 rebounds per game average.
Beseman finished the year by scoring at least 12 points in the last 14 regular-season games, and also had at least 12 points in the two playoff contests. Beseman scored at least 20 points on three occasions, and posted a season-high 28 points at Hamline.
Beseman also became the 29th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau when she scored 26 points at St. Catherine on Feb. 4.
Sieben was the team's point guard and main outside scoring threat throughout the year. She finished second on the team in scoring with an 11.1 ppg average which placed her in the Top 20 of the MIAC. Sieben was also sixth in the league in assists at 2.7 helpers per game.
Sieben excelled for outside the arc where she was fourth in both 3-point field goals per game (2.2) and 3-point field goal percentage (35.3%). Sieben made at least one 3-pointer in 21 of the 22 conference games and put up a season-high five, 3-pointers against Augsburg on Dec. 7.
