Cobbers Fall in Series Finale

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (12/10/22)---Concordia ran into a high-powered offense on Saturday, and lost 8-0 at No.10-ranked Wis.-Eau Claire.
The Blugolds scored two goals in each of the first and second periods and then added four in the third to earn the sweep in the series.
The loss drops the Cobbers' record to 3-8-0 on the year, while Eau Claire wins its fifth straight game and is now 10-2-0 for the season.
Eau Claire scored the two goals in the first period in a span of 2:02 beginning at the 8:01 mark. Their two goals in the second period came in an even shorter time period. They pushed the lead to 3-0 at 5:36 and then added their fourth just 44-seconds later.
The Blugolds scored the first of their four third-period goals in the first minute of the frame, and then had the final three in the last half of the period.
Concordia was outshot 42-7 in the game. Freshman Morgan Sauvageau led the Cobbers with four shots.
The Cobbers split the goaltending duties. Senior Kiana Flaig got the started and went the first 26:20. She stopped 13 shots. Junior Becca Macklin finished off the final 33:40 and made 21 saves.
UP NEXT: Concordia will have an extended break for the holidays, and the return to action when they host No.2-ranked Wis.-River Falls in a 2-game series on Jan. 6-7.
