ST. PAUL, Minn. (10/19/21)---Concordia broke a pair of team droughts and had a player break her own drought in the team's 2-1 double overtime win at UMAC-leading Northwestern on Thursday. The Cobbers put an end to their goalless and winless streaks in earning their fifth win of the season.

Halle Jordan's goal just 25-seconds into the second overtime session gave the Cobbers the win which ended their four-game stretch without a victory. Concordia is now 5-8-2 in all games after playing its final non-conference game. The win is even more impressive due to the fact that Northwestern is leading the UMAC conference standings with an 8-0-1 record. The overtime loss drops the Eagles' record in all games to 8-6-1.

Concordia wasted little time in ending their goalless streak. The Cobbers entered the game having not scored a goal in the past four games – a streak that covered 380 minutes. Senior Rachel Osmundson made sure the streak wouldn't reach 390 minutes as she netted a goal in the fifth minute of play.

Osmundson's unassisted strike at the 4:37 mark broke a scoreless drought of her own as it was her first collegiate goal. The goal would give Concordia a 1-0 lead until late in the second half.

The Cobbers held a slight 3-2 edge in shots in the first half in a game that went back-and-forth throughout most of the 90 minutes of play.

It looked like Concordia would earn its sixth shutout of the season as the Cobber defense held Northwestern off the board until for the first 88 minutes of the contest. The game changed with 1:19 left in regulation when the Eagles were able to get the game-tying goal and send the contest into overtime.

Niether team had a shot in the first 10-minute overtime period and then Jordan came through just after the kickoff of the second OT period when she finished off a sequence from Kayla Dostal and Kallie Baarstad. The goal at 100:25 was Jordan's second of the season and second game-winning goal of the year. She also netted the winner in Concordia's win against Wis.-Superior.

Both teams had total 11 shots in the game and both teams had six shots on frame. Osmundson and freshman Hannah Sandin both had three total shots to lead the CC offense.

Cobber goalie Maddy Reed made five saves to earn her fifth win of the season.

NON-CONFERENCE NOTE: Concordia finished its non-conference slate with a 3-2-2 record. That mark also included a 2-0-0 record against teams from the UMAC.

WHAT'S NEXT: Concordia will host MIAC-leading Augsburg on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 3:30 p.m. That game will be the first of three conference games to finish out the regular season for CC. The Cobbers will also have a home game against Bethel on Tuesday and then travel to Winona to take on St. Mary's on Saturday, Oct. 28 in the regular-season finale.
